Capstone Work Over Summer
I joined the Capstone project at the beginning of August. During those four weeks I was able to accomplish the following:
- Created Proposal
I created the initial version of my Address Infinite application proposal. This proposal details the various aspects of Address Infinite design and structure as well as the technology behind it. Included in the proposal is a rough outline of my milestones.
- Planned Development
In early-August I put together a development plan including researching the code libraries and design considerations I would need to have in order to create an application that can span across numerous operating systems and be used by different demographics. I decided to use the OS X application look and feel as the core design across the different platforms.
- Interface Sketches
In mid-August I sketched six different interfaces using pencil and paper. These sketeches will be used as the initial guidelines for design layout and development of the application. Most of the sketches contain a general idea of where the most important information, navigation and tools will be within the application interface.
- Design Components
In late-August I designed the shell and core components for the application. These designs were created in Photoshop and will be used throughout the development process as image components in the actual code.
Goals for September
My goals for September is all about coding the foundation of the application. I would like the have most of the foundation of the application code complete by the end of September. For design, I would like to have the initial login / registration page up and running.
